Answers to the questions we hear most often. If you don't find what you're looking for here, we're always glad to help directly.

About our programs

Most of our community workshops and public lectures are offered free of charge, supported by grants and partnerships. A small number of specialised sessions carry a modest materials fee, which is always stated clearly when you register.

No prior knowledge is needed. Our programs are designed for complete beginners as well as people who already practise some sustainable habits and want to go further. Facilitators adjust the pace to the group in the room.

Yes. We regularly deliver presentations and workshops for schools, libraries, and local organisations. You can request a visit through our contact page, and our team will follow up to arrange a suitable date and format.

We run programs for all ages. Some sessions are designed specifically for children or families, while others suit adults. Each event listing notes who it is intended for so you can choose what fits.

Resources and materials

Yes. Every guide, checklist, and planner in our Learning Center is free to download, print, and share, with no account or payment required. Free public access is central to our mission.

Absolutely. Teachers and community leaders are welcome to print and share our resources for educational, non-commercial use. We simply ask that you keep our attribution intact.

We review our materials against current research and local guidance, and we update them when practices change. If you notice something that seems outdated, please let us know so we can correct it.

Getting involved

We welcome volunteers for events, clean-up days, and workshop support. Our volunteer training program prepares you with everything needed, and you can express interest through the contact form on our site.

As a registered non-profit, we do accept donations that help us keep our resources and most events free. If you'd like to support our work, please reach out through the contact page for current options.

We are based in Vancouver and work primarily with communities across British Columbia for in-person programs, while our downloadable resources are used by households and educators throughout Canada.

We aim to respond to messages within two business days. During busy event seasons it may occasionally take a little longer, and we appreciate your patience.
